Biography of Huimin Chi
“To me, photography is everyday life just like cups of coffee.”—Huimin Chi
Born in 1974, now lives in Nantou County, Taiwan. Fall in love with an old Olympus PEN EE2 camera and the smell of emulsion at childhood, started taking pictures. From 1993, began black & white film photography and analog darkroom process, still took pictures with black & white films and developed them daily.
Graduated at Institute of Art Studies, NCKU, MFA degree (2005). Based in Taiwan, Fine art photographer and lecturer in photography at universities. Webmaster of “Developing Image Coffee” (http://imagecoffee.net) since 2000, published photo works and poetry on web site and photoblogs of long-term, held 2 times Solo Exhibitions & 2 times Group Exhibitions. 2 years of column writer for Unique Photo magazine (TW), also have several articles published on Photo magazine (HK), Artist magazine (TW) and so on.
